KUCHING: Hornbill Skyways Sdn Bhd will soar to new heights with its latest addition of a Eurocopter EC155 coming in this November.
Its executive chairman Datuk Aidan Wing told reporters yesterday that with the new addition, Hornbill Skyways will have a total of 14 helicopters.
“This is a bigger helicopter with five-blade rotor and improved performance that can be operated in all weather conditions and at night with more passenger space,” he said at the Hornbill Skyways Aidilfitri gathering.
“This is an upgrade as the present helicopters are not in production anymore. With the new EC155, we will provide a much better service to our clients,” he said.
Captain Murugasan Ramasamy added that the Eurocopter EC155 is a long-range medium-lift passenger transport helicopter that can carry up to 14 passengers including a 2-man crew.
Meanwhile, Aidan also presented Hari Raya packets to the children from Peryatim joining the Aildifitri celebration organised by the Hornbill Skyways’ Sports and Social Club in collaboration with Hornbill Skyways.
Reminding that Hari Raya is a time for peace, goodwill and understanding, Aidan encouraged all attending the celebration to catch up and mingle with one another to strengthen friendship and bond.
“The company has always been supportive of this kind of activities for the social well-being of its members,” he said.
“This is part of our strategic social contributions and hopefully one day, some of you might join us as one of our pilots or staff of Hornbill Skyways,” he added.
Earlier on, the children got to tour the hangar for a closer look at the aircraft and helicopters.
As Malaysia celebrates its 56 years of independence and Sarawak, its 50 years of Merdeka with Malaysia today, Aidan called on all Malaysians to be proud of the country and fly the Jalur Gemilang and Sarawak flags with pride and honour.
“Reaffirm our patriotism and love for the country and unity in line with this year’s Merdeka celebration theme – Malaysiaku Berdaulat Tanah Tumpahnya Darahku,” he added.
